History
The appellation was granted in 1971 and adopted the Saint-Véran spelling to distinguish it from the commune.

The delimited vineyards form northern and southern arcs around Pouilly-Fuissé near the Beaujolais boundary.

Warm continental conditions are moderated by elevation and airflow around limestone ridges.
