Overview
Between Pommard and Meursault, Volnay’s narrow east- and southeast-facing slopes carry thin limestone-rich soils. These sites give Pinot Noir floral fragrance, red fruit, fine tannin, and elegance, while clayier parcels add breadth and power.
Geography & Climate
Vineyards climb the Côte above Volnay and extend into Meursault through the Santenots sector.
Soils
Thin, stony limestone and marl soils vary in clay and iron content, becoming deeper toward the foot of the slope.
