Overview
Ruchottes-Chambertin occupies a high east-facing niche at the northern end of Gevrey’s grand-cru slope. Thin rocky soils over hard limestone and a cool, well-drained position yield refined Pinot Noir with floral and red-fruit aromas, mineral precision, and firm, fine-grained structure.
Geography & Climate
The vineyard lies high on the slope above Mazis-Chambertin and immediately north of Chambertin-Clos de Bèze.
Soils
Very shallow, stony brown calcareous soils rest on hard Jurassic limestone with limited clay and marl.
Wine Styles
The appellation produces red Pinot Noir exclusively, often emphasizing perfume, precision, freshness, and slow-building complexity.
