Overview

The appellation covers Fixin and Brochon in the north and Premeaux-Prissey, Comblanchien, and Corgoloin in the south. Limestone slopes and foothills yield predominantly red Pinot Noir with dark fruit, savory depth, and firm structure, alongside limited white Chardonnay.

Its vineyards occupy two groups of east-facing slopes and foothills at the northern and southern ends of the Côte de Nuits.

Bathonian limestone, brown limestone-derived soils, marl, scree, and alluvium vary by commune and slope position.

Most wine is red Pinot Noir; a smaller quantity of white Chardonnay is also produced.
