Overview
From the Montrachet hill south toward Santenay, Chassagne’s broad vineyard area crosses pale limestone, marl, clay, and gravel. Whites range from taut and mineral to broad and powerful, while reds show cherry fruit, earth, and firm structure.
Geography & Climate
Vineyards spread over east- and southeast-facing slopes and lower ground between Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay.
Soils
Hard limestone and marl dominate the upper slopes, with greater clay, iron, gravel, and alluvium lower down.
Wine Styles
White Chardonnay and red Pinot Noir are both significant, producing a wider stylistic range than neighboring Puligny.
