Chapelle-Chambertin AOC
Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is a red-only Pinot Noir appellation on the lower eastern side of Gevrey-Chambertin’s grand-cru slope.
Overview
Chapelle-Chambertin lies below Clos de Bèze, where the slope eases and soils gain depth. Its warm east-facing position and limestone-clay matrix yield Pinot Noir that is often generous, aromatic, and supple while retaining the structure expected of Gevrey’s grands crus.
Geography & Climate
The vineyard occupies a gently sloping east-facing sector below Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, close to the Route des Grands Crus.
Soils
Deeper brown calcareous soils combine limestone debris, marl, and clay over Jurassic substrata.
Wine Styles
The appellation produces red Pinot Noir exclusively, often showing ripe fruit, spice, breadth, and comparatively accessible texture.
