Overview
Clos de Bèze shares Gevrey-Chambertin’s celebrated east-facing mid-slope with Chambertin. Calcareous brown soils over Jurassic limestone and marl foster deeply aromatic Pinot Noir with red and dark fruit, spice, mineral detail, firm structure, and graceful longevity.
Geography & Climate
The appellation forms an east-facing mid-slope parcel directly north of Chambertin above the village of Gevrey-Chambertin.
Soils
Shallow brown limestone soils, scree, marl, and clay-limestone rest on Jurassic bedrock with abundant marine fossils.
Wine Styles
Only red Pinot Noir is produced, characteristically perfumed and powerful with layered spice and long aging potential.
